Inkster victim in court: Daughter was killed to 'make me suffer'
Baby Killer |
“His idea was to kill my baby
to make me suffer,” French said of Raymone Jackson, the man alleged to
have fired the shots that killed his daughter, KaMiya.
French testified that he had known Jackson and his co-defendant, Raphael Hearn, since they were youngsters.
Wearing
a black T-shirt with a picture of himself and his daughter on the
front, and the words “R.I.P. Baby Girl KaMiya Daddy Loves You,” on the
back, French shouted at Jackson “you walked up like a friend” just
before he shot KaMiya nine times.

Jackson
is also charged with shooting 12-year-old Chelsea Lancaster in the leg;
she is recovering at home after being released from the hospital.
Wednesday’s
preliminary examination ended with Inkster District Judge Sabrina
Johnson ordering Jackson to stand trial on charges of first-degree
murder, torture, assault with intent to murder, felonious assault, felon
in possession of a firearm and committing a felony with firearm. His
next court date is July 23 in Wayne County Circuit Court.
Hearn
is charged with first-degree murder, two counts of assault with intent
to murder and committing a felony with a firearm; he was ordered to
undergo a mental competency evaluation. Judge Johnson ordered him back
to court on Sept. 4 to determine whether he will be bound over for
trial.
During his testimony, French said he
spoke briefly to Jackson before his childhood pal pulled his revolver
and gunned down the 28-pound toddler outside his apartment on the porch
in the 30000 block of Carlyle around 8:30 p.m. July 1. The child was
shot in the eye. French said he believes the shooting was in retaliation
for not protecting Hearn from an earlier shooting at a local motorcycle
club.
Saneetra Smith, another key witness,
testified that Jackson, wearing sunglasses, calmly walked up and
nodded as if to say “What’s up?” before turning and firing on the
toddler, French and the other child.
Jackson, 24, and Hearn, 29, both from Inkster, were clad in yellow jumpsuits as they listened to the testimony against them.

Tensions
flared in the courtroom shortly as French hobbled to the stand with his
right arm and right leg in bandages. A courtroom spectator yelled to
Jackson and Hearn to stop laughing during a recess.
“What’s funny?” the male spectator shouted before abruptly leaving.
Marcus
Brown, who rode in the car with Jackson and Hearn at the time of the
shooting but was not charged in the case, testified that the whole
incident happened in a matter of 30 seconds to 2 minutes. He told the
courtroom that Jackson said, “I got off 10” shots when he got back into
the vehicle after the shooting.
After fleeing the scene, the three went to the Detroit RiverWalk.
Toni Holt, the mother of the 12-year-old victim, also identified Jackson as the shooter during Wednesday’s hearing.
“Boom, boom, it just kept going,” she said, describing the shooting.
KaMiya was buried Saturday on what would have been her third birthday.

Is this real? Am I really reading this?
ReplyDeleteAnd just look at the typical splib look on that things face! Couldn't care less. However, had the cops arrived on the scene while IT was still there and had they shot him dead, the blacks would be outraged and the baby would cease to matter. All that would matter then is that they shot a black man. We know...
